To put it simply, CARPRO Release is a quick cleaner, or as we know it in Puerto Rico, "liquid wax," for detailing paint. But there's more to it than meets the eye. Its original purpose was to help ceramic coating installers with one of the most difficult parts of the job: vehicle delivery. More on that later. No matter what you do in the detailing process, chances are a quick detailer is a useful tool in your detailing arsenal. Whether you use ceramic coatings or not, Release is a great addition to your cleaning arsenal.
Main uses of CARPRO Release
- Quick Detailer : Essential for all detailers to achieve a nice final shine or to remove a very fine layer of dust on the surface.
- Ceramic Coatings: Especially useful in situations where a newly coated vehicle must be released into the environment before the coating has fully cured. Release acts as a sacrificial protective barrier for the coating while it cures.
What was Release Created For???
The name " Release " comes from its usefulness in situations where customers need their cars back before the recommended curing time of a ceramic coating. Imagine a customer who wants their car back before the 24- to 48-hour curing time. The car must be moved from an environmentally controlled shop to outdoors, where it faces humidity fluctuations and potential damage from insects, rain, dirt, and debris. Release provides a protective layer to handle these situations until the coating underneath is fully cured.
CARPRO Release vs. CARPRO Reload
Release and Reload , a product that has been popular for over a decade, are often confused. CARPRO Reload can be used similarly, but it doesn't suit the needs of all coatings. Below is a comparison of the two:
- CARPRO Reload – Used as a standalone sealant, as a topcoat for ceramic coated cars, and is applied over a ceramic coating after it has cured. Reload has been used for years and became popular with the introduction of CQUK . It has been recommended to protect the coating (especially CQUARTZ) upon delivery, within 24-48 hours. However, the new technology found in new coatings can be compromised by Reload during its curing process. It can have a detrimental effect on the coating if applied too quickly. Please be aware that if you are still using CQUARTZ UK 3.0 , CARPRO Reload is perfectly safe to use one hour after installation. Where we do not currently recommend it is with SiC ; After SiC has cured you can use Reload (it would be better to wait 30 days).
- CARPRO Release: Can be used a few hours after coating ( CARPRO recommends four hours) to allow the vehicle to be released into the environment before the coating has fully cured. This product works well with any coating in the CARPRO line and can be a useful tool for returning a ceramic-coated vehicle to the customer quickly without adversely affecting the coating's characteristics. In addition to the product's "delivery" function, it also serves as CARPRO 's first "Quick Detailer" with Carnauba. For those looking for a more economical option, we recommend CARPRO ECH2O .
How CARPRO Release fits into the CARPRO line
The biggest comparison customers make with CARPRO Release is to our other popular sealants and quick detailers.
- CARPRO Release : This is the easiest to use and provides short-term protection. It's included in the CARPRO line as a quick cleaner with very light protection, offering simplicity for those who may not need the full range of car care products. If you already use Reload and don't apply ceramic coating to your cars, you may not need Release . However, it's still a versatile option for many users. Deep shine (from the carnauba wax).
- CARPRO ECH2O: A concentrated quick detailer that lasts from one week to one month. It's designed specifically for quick cleaning and polishing. Contains SiO2.
- CARPRO EliXir : Provides protection for a month or more and can be used as a quick cleaner. This product truly bridges the gap between a sealant and a quick cleaner. Contains SiO2
- CARPRO Reload: Offers over 3 months of protection and is a specific sealant. Reload should not be used for any cleaning purpose, but purely for protection.
Durability and ease of use
The main differences, beyond durability and cleaning ability, are ease of use. Release is the easiest product to use, while EliXir and Reload vary in complexity based on individual preference. The product most similar to Release is ECH2O , and both are quick cleansers: ECH2O is concentrated, and Release is ready-to-use.
Final thoughts
CARPRO Release is an excellent addition to any detailer's toolkit, offering ease of use and effective protection. Whether you work with ceramic coatings or simply need a reliable quick detailer, CARPRO Release is worth considering. Its versatility and convenience make it a standout product in the CARPRO line, ensuring your vehicle looks its best with minimal effort.
